Field School Pozzeveri 2018

The Field School in Medieval Archaeology and Bioarchaeology at Badia Pozzeveri (Lucca, Italy) is an academic program aimed at training students in archaeological and bioarchaeological field and laboratory methods. Archaeological field methods taught during the course include the following:

  • Archaeological survey and excavation
  • GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and informatics
  • Bioarchaeological field and research methods
  • History & Material Culture
  • Recovery, restoration, and analysis of human skeletal remains.

There are two sessions:

  1. 18 June to 13 July 2018
  2. 16 July to 10 August 2018

The application deadline is 20 May 2018. Tuition for one session are 2,250 USD, for both 4,000 USD.

The field school is a project of the University of Pisa and managed by the Institute for Research and Learning in Archaeology and Bioarchaeology (IRLAB).
