12th Archaeological Conference of Central Germany

10 to 12 October 2019 in Halle (Saale, Germany).

As always, the annual meeting is dedicated to a central topic. This year’s motto is

Ritual Violence – Rituals of Violence

A reference point for contributions is provided by two archaeological sites, the monumental earthwork of Salzmünde and the Pömmelte Woodhenge (4th to 3rd Millennium BC). These will be discussed in relation to other sites yielding evidence of ritual violence.

Contributions will be in English or German. The programme of podium presentations is available online or through the conference flyer. Abstracts for poster presentations will be accepted until 15 September 2019, see call for posters on the conference website. The conference is free for presenters, otherwise the fee is 45€ (20€ reduced fee). Registration can be effectuated online. Get more information from the conference website.
