Field Worker in Iraq

The British Museum (UK) is looking for a physical anthropologist to excavate human remains at two archaeological sites in Iraqi Kurdistan dating to the 2nd century BC and to the first century AD, respectively. The excavations are part of the Darband-i Rania Archaeological Project within the British Museum’s Iraq Scheme.

The British Museum is looking for a researcher for studying remains on site for three to four weeks. Currently (January 2021), the season is planned to take place in April and May but it might be later, depending on the COVID situation. The Museum can pay all costs – travel, insurance, maintenance, as well as a small salary if the individual is not in a salaried position. If interested in this position, please contact Dr. John MacGinnis at jmacginnis@britishmuseum.org.
