Workshop ‚Biological and Forensic Anthropology: It’s in Our Bones‘

26 to 28 June 2024 in Berlin (Germany).

The Society for Anthropology (Gesellschaft für Anthropologie, GfA), together with the Berlin Society for Anthropology, Ethnology and Prehistory (Berliner Gesellschaft für Anthropologie, Ethnologie und Urgeschichte, BGAEU) and the Berlin Museum of Prehistory and Early History (Museum für Vor- und Frühgeschichte), organises the workshop ‚Biological and Forensic Anthropology: It’s in Our Bones‘.

Prof. Robert W. Mann of the University of Hawaii will cover a range of areas of osteological research, including bone fracture, nonmetric traits and paleopathological conditions. These will be illustrated with concrete case studies.

On the last day of the workshop, participants can bring their own material to have it discussed in class. There is also a poster session with contributions from all strands of anthropology.

The deadline for registration and abstract submission is 20 June 2024. Just write an email message to the lead organiser Barbara Tessmann. The registration fee is 30,-€ (20,-€ for students). Get more information from the invitation and programme.
