AAPA Updates their Statement on Race and Racism

The American Association of Physical Anthropologists (AAPA) has updated its statement on race and racism previously published in the association’s publication organ American Journal of Physical Anthropology in 1996. The new version was accepted by the AAPA Executive Committee at its meeting on March 27, 2019 at the 88th Annual Meeting in Cleveland, Ohio. It is available through the association’s website.

The Society for Anthropology (Gesellschaft für Anthropologie, GfA) issued a statement against applying the term ‚race‘ to humans in 2006. It was published in the association’s publication organ Anthropologischer Anzeiger and is available through the GfA website.
